You know I love a good reno. And a little bit of DIY.
Here are baby A’s drawers. The original pine specimen was actually my husband’s from childhood. He fashioned up the changetop in anticipation of our first babe. It was functional, but not gorgeous. I asked, very sweetly, for him to remove the nasty wooden handles and help me paint it a glossy, happy white. He knows better than to argue when I’m pregnant and while it was touch and go there for a while, we made it through this small DIY still smiling. I made him paint the INSIDE of the drawers, too. It really was touch and go…
This project was completed in a week of utter turmoil for our family. We were grieving for someone taken well before his time. Painting is my therapy and during that week walls, the children’s bunks, my tallboy and these drawers all got a coat or two of beautiful colour.
It’s taken a while to get the handles installed, but I love the overall look and for a small outlay (perhaps $40) on special handles I think we’ve done well.
The paint is Dulux Antique White in gloss and the ‘zoe’ handles were sourced from hepburnhardware.com
